My journey
Starting my journey, I left behind the dust grey roads, for a path besides a canal in Pontypridd and cleaner air.
On my walk I discovered many shades of green, depicting their own identity, like the different leaves that hang at the end of the branches and potruding from flower stems.
Some of the leaves have fallen from the trees, as Summer merges with Autumn. Other leaves turn gold and russet as if to remind me that Summer is nearly over.
The different types of trees growing either side of the path reach out as if to greet each other, forming a tunnel to protect me from the scorching sun.
As I walk through this tunnel the air changes from warm to cool fresh air that is filled with eathly scents of woods and perfumed scents of wild flowers.
I stop to look at the flowers and in the distance I hear the sound of the A470, above this the song of the birds can barely be heard.
I start to walk further on this path which begins to narrow until it meets a small stone arch bridge. The bridge is covered in a plethora of green plant-life as if they are protecting the bridge itself. The other side of the bridge the red berries look striking against the green, as if to complement the trees and bushes.
As I cross the bridge, broad, bulky, stalks of pink and green stand out of the water with their flowers almost exploding.
Suddenly I hear the noise of a building site, drills humming, people shouting.
I walk on, the canal starts to widen transforming itself into a pond, the path ends.
Sitting on the edge of the pond, I notice the wood lice scurrying around.
Overhead a white butterfly flutters out of a garden, and a dragonfly circles the pond.
I am surrounded by soft green moss, blackberries, which are plentiful .
My journey is complete.
